In
the Name of Allah the Most Gracious the Ever Merciful. O Allah, send benediction
upon Our Lord Mohammed, the Opening of what had been closed, the Seal of what
had gone before, the Helper of the Truth by the Truth, and the Guide to Your
Straight Path, and upon his Family. May (this prayer be) equal to his immense
position and grandeur.
Above all, he charged the upright Muqaddam of his Path (a title of Muqaddam that allows the bearer legal transmission of the Path and/or someone on the Shaykh’s step has his foot laid hold) that he shall not touch the hand of a woman with his hand while celebrating the transmission of the Wird. The Shaykh, may his secret be sanctified, stressed on this condition; for out of the ego may come evil thoughts where Satan has his throne, and touching seduces the lust of the flesh, deliberately or accidentally, and that is not from God.
Thereupon,
he, may Allah be pleased with him, separated the breath of men from the breath
of women, and never had he allowed a woman to kiss his hand. And to remember his
instruction well, he had always transmitted women through the mediation of their
close relatives. And sometimes he would rely on the power of his speech to
initiate them.
And what is attributed to the Shaykh on the basis of tawatur (oral accounts) transitions is that he did prevent them from facing him when they came to visit him and ask him to make prayer for them. So they stood past him from afar, along with one of his closest, most pious, most righteous companions to inform him of their names and needs, and then he would make them joyful in the house of prayer.
In
this manner he observed the Prophet’s Tradition and kept people away from
having excuses in light of: ‘Make not the calling of the messenger among you
as your calling one of another. Allah know those of you who steal away, hiding
themselves. And let those who conspire to evade orders beware lest grief or
painful punishment befall them.’ (Quran 24:63)
Yeah! We will continue to make it known that this Tijani Path of ours gives women all what they need to become obedient, knowledgeable, and great worshippers of God. And what is greater than hagiography to show all those things? So it is concealed no more that in times past illumination, sainthood and authority came to them. And in order to honor the woman further, Our Lords, the Knowers of Allah among the people of the Tijani Path, never failed to make her an heir on the throne of Taqdim, providing she is ready and qualified.
And
let it be known that our Path has plenty of room for women Muqaddams,
and this status is made complete by the litanies of the Path together with the secrets
and the arcane benefits of the people of reality. Hence they are able to
hand over these remembrances to other women according to their dwelling places
in the land of their possession.
Thusly, so as to shed light upon the Tijani woman archetype who is heralded by gifts that mimic the Knowers’ own, we made a selection of our best women, and collected them into a volume containing 102 accurate hagiographies and beautiful reproductions of female photographs from the Sufi life. And now dear beloved! See that what you have read from the beginning remains in you! Look at it and give it thought.
